This was a great free 4th of July 5k race. I ran it with my good friend Andy. My main goal was to show up early enough to get a free shirt and I did that. Too bad it says Wal-Mart on the back. Running on the 4th of July is a tradition I really enjoy. I did much better than I anticipated in the race. I took 4th place in my age group. I think the layoff from training last week helped a lot. I didn't plan on the taper but I am glad I did it.
